JOB DESCRIPTION:
Lead monthly reviews of engineering development costs across Molex sites in North America, Europe, and Asia. Identify anomalies and develop corrective financial strategies in collaboration with regional teams. Design and maintain advanced forecasting models for engineering budgets, integrating project cost, investment allocation, labor planning, and tooling expenditures to drive financial alignment with global business objectives. Own and deliver executive dashboards and financial reports to CMS VAS Global Engineering leadership, highlighting key performance metrics, cost optimization opportunities, and budget trends using Power BI and structured Excel models. Develop and govern financial planning tools for global use, enabling engineering directors and project managers to plan headcount, validate investments, and monitor resource utilization across development programs. Define and enforce KPI metrics for engineering efficiency, timing performance, resource productivity, and testing cost benchmarks, ensuring transparency and data-driven decision-making at the executive level. Liaise cross-functionally with regional finance, engineering, and project management offices to align forecasts, calibrate budgets, and support global resource allocation planning. Oversee the validation and standardization of costs associated with engineering testing, prototype builds, external vendor sourcing, and capital tooling — including initiating variance investigations and aligning corrective actions. Serve as the primary point of contact for SAP and Coupa financial system analysis; extract and interpret purchase order history, investment forecasts, and actual spend data to enforce procurement compliance and cost governance. Manage the internal engineering data platform to ensure consistent reporting architecture, secure access, and automated chart generation for global stakeholders and audit readiness. Support corporate finance and legal teams in preparing audit responses and cost justification packages for R&D tax credits, capital investment reviews, or global compliance inquiries.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Master’s degree in Financial Engineering, Finance or a related field and 2 years of work experience in engineering finance and project cost analysis within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience in all the following:
- Leveraging Microsoft Excel to create advanced formulas, pivot tables, and financial models.
- Using Power BI to design dashboards and data visualizations to track engineering and prototype costs, monitor development spending, and highlight cost drivers in both engineering and manufacturing programs.
- Designing and managing PowerPlatform apps (SharePoint, PowerApps, Power Automate, and Power BI).
Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in all the following:
- Using ERP/procurement systems SAP and Coupa.
- Cost tracking and financial reporting for engineering and validation projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, finance, and project management teams to align technical and financial objectives, ensuring accurate cost tracking, and achieving effective cost control and timely project delivery.
