Peckham Inc. - Custodial Services Crew Leader (In-House) - GR
SUMMARY
The Custodial Services Crew Leader will lead a crew of Custodial Services Technicians with limited supervision from a supervisor. The Crew Leader is responsible for keeping a building (or buildings) in a clean and orderly condition; the employee must possess the ability to lead a crew in the performance of regular daily cleaning duties and is responsible for planning and scheduling contracted services with the support of a supervisor. The Crew Leader may be required to lead special periodic work projects. They must have the ability to use current technology to complete some job duties including the use of e-mail. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter able to use creative strategies to resolve issues that may arise at a moment's notice. Placement site can change at any time based on contract requirements or the needs of the line of business.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All the following duties must be performed independently with minimal support from an on-site supervisor:
Issue daily assignments and monitor the performance of other Custodial Services Technicians
Report inventory and supply usage
Maintain and implement safety, ergonomic, and security standards per Peckham and specific building policies
Exemplify leadership with excellence in areas of quality, customer service, work ethic, attendance, and behavior
Take on supervisory duties as assigned in the absence of a supervisor
Mentor new team members in general custodial and periodic tasks
Apply effective communication skills through various methods with custodial technicians, including verbally and electronically, with customers, team members, facility managers, and Peckham staff
Independently resolve issues and organize tasks/schedules for the team
Lead special periodic work projects as needed
Independently complete general custodial tasks, including but not limited to:
Stocking and organizing storage closets and custodial carts
Operate commercial cleaning equipment
Routine cleaning of restrooms
Routine cleaning of classrooms, breakrooms, and offices
Routine cleaning of mirrors and glass
Maintain grounds, including snow removal as needed
Routine vacuuming of carpeting and matting
Routine dust and wet mopping of hard floors
Routine cleaning of flights of stairs
Periodic dusting of all horizontal and vertical ledges
Perform daily inspection and maintenance of equipment and report deficiencies
Producing quality work in an ever-changing environment
Maintain excellent customer service standards
Practice proper security and safety standards
Apply ergonomic standards appropriate to each custodial task and equipment used
Utilize a teamwork approach for all projects
Promote Peckham's vision, values, and services to all customers and stakeholders
Assist when appropriate per safety policy and procedures
Receive, implement, and deliver constructive feedback in a professional manner
Complete and maintain required trainings and certifications
Accept other duties as assigned, and training as needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
18 years of age or older
Basic computer skills (MS Office, Inventory)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Strong soft skills, e.g., coping/stress management skills, time management skills, conflict management skills, self-starter, etc.
Must pass and maintain background checks
Maintain required certifications
Demonstrate proficiency in all general custodial tasks with advanced independence
Meet physical requirements of the position (see Physical Demands)
Able to commit to a regular schedule
Must have reliable transportation to and from worksite
Ability to effectively communicate
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED
Basic computer skills are highly desired
Reliable transportation between multiple worksites
Strong problem-solving skills
