LEAN/Quality Champion.
Analyze current work practices to identify areas for improvement and educate as to how to improve business and manufacturing processes. Devise and test solutions and roll out new ways of working. Lead and participate in LEAN health checks and go/no goes. Develop and implement workplace audits and streamlining processes, identifying areas for improvement and making recommendations for corrective action. Process mapping, value stream mapping, identifying inefficiencies in productivity with a particular focus on layouts and sequencing. Recommend to management changes that can cut waste from operating procedures. Deploy appropriate methodologies to problem solving and support teams to solve problems. Ensure the escalation process for problem solving is effective. Demonstrate performance excellence behaviors within the business and champion performance excellence. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices related to quality control, sharing knowledge and insights with team members and stakeholders. Implement standard work, visual factory and error proofing (poka yoke). Train team members on processes, procedures, and policies, ensuring that they have the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs effectively. Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems. Carry out time and motion studies to support productivity improvements. Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems. Manage and maintain documentation, ensuring that all necessary records and reports are accurate and up-to-date. Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them. Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure that raw materials and components meet established quality standards. Conduct risk assessments of processes and tasks. Participate in cross-functional teams to develop and implement new products or services, ensuring that all LEAN processes including quality control are integrated into the development process. Other duties and projects as determined by production and overall company business needs.
Relationship Management
Communicate with departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers. Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting and implementing continuous improvement activities and carry out process and procedure improvements to optimize results and improve quality of delivery, in line with quality standard requirements. Ensure an effective interface with team members is maintained.
