Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Novi, Michigan. This Contract to permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic finance department while enhancing your attention to detail. The ideal candidate will excel in managing various accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, and supporting month-end and year-end processes.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and post journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and reconciliation.
Perform intercompany accounting tasks for a multi-entity, public company.
Oversee fixed asset accounting, including tracking and depreciation.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.
Reconcile accounts to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded.
Handle corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.
Collaborate with shared services teams to maintain consistency across entities.
Utilize advanced Excel functions to analyze and organize financial data. Requirements - Proven experience in journal entries and general ledger management.
Strong proficiency in fixed asset accounting and intercompany transactions.
Expertise in corporate tax, sales tax, and preparing corporate tax returns.
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Familiarity with month-end and year-end financial processes.
Ability to reconcile accounts and ensure financial accuracy.
Experience working within shared services environments.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
