Job Title: Electrical DesignerJob Description
This position involves engineering and designing the electrical components within equipment and panels for automated machinery. The role requires utilizing AutoCAD Electrical to complete 2D schematics and drawings for these panels. The candidate must be capable of performing accurate calculations and designs to ensure the functionality of the equipment.
Responsibilities
Assist the Equipment Engineering Manager and Electrical Engineering Lead to ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards and project schedules.
Produce comprehensive 2D electrical schematics and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
Verify the accuracy, clarity, and completeness of personal design outputs and participate in periodic peer design evaluations.
Leverage design management software to track revisions, control configuration changes, and manage data exchanges.
Work cross-functionally with engineers and technicians to contribute technical insight and specialized knowledge.
Translate engineering designs into actionable guidance for technicians during component fabrication, installation, and maintenance.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including design-for-manufacturability and process efficiency enhancements.
Participate in formal and informal technical and design reviews to validate concepts and solutions.
Execute and record engineering calculations to support design decisions and new product introductions.
Partner with Purchasing to define technical requirements for bought-out components and evaluate cost-reduction options.
Assist with troubleshooting and corrective actions during equipment assembly, commissioning, and performance testing.
Generate and maintain drawings, schematics, and diagrams in compliance with applicable industry codes and standards.
Develop, review, release, and sustain bills of materials (BOMs) for both new equipment and aftermarket/service products.
Provide constructive technical recommendations to balance system safety, robustness, reliability, and overall cost.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
3+ years of experience in a role involving panel design.
2+ years of experience with AutoCAD, preferably AutoCAD Electrical.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in electrical design and panel design.
Experience in BOM creation.
Strong knowledge of engineering principles and design management software.
Work Environment
The position is based at the corporate headquarters, along with the main production facility. The candidate will work as part of a team of electrical engineers. This is a Permanent position based out of Saline, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
Base salary , along with PTO. Medical dental and a 401k match . Short term and long term disability along with company sponsored life insurance.
Workplace Type
This is a fully onsite position in Saline,MI.
