Position Summary:
The Audio/Visual Systems Integrator is responsible for the installation, configuration, integration, and support of advanced low-voltage systems including audio/visual technology, network infrastructure, automation platforms, surveillance systems, and access control systems. This position requires strong technical knowledge of AV equipment, networking systems, and integrated building technologies.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with UniFi networking equipment, Linux-based systems, automation platforms, and security systems, and will be responsible for building reliable, scalable, and secure system environments for residential and commercial clients.
Key Responsibilities:
System Installation & Integration
- Install and integrate audio/visual equipment including displays, projectors, speakers, control systems, and related hardware.
- Deploy and configure UniFi networking hardware and software including routers, switches, wireless access points, and network controllers.
- Install and configure structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure for AV and network systems.
- Integrate AV systems with building automation and control platforms.
Network & Systems Configuration
- Configure and troubleshoot Linux-based networking environments and associated services.
- Install and manage network infrastructure supporting AV systems, cameras, automation platforms, and access control systems.
- Monitor system performance and ensure reliable connectivity across integrated devices.
Security & Access Control Systems
- Install and integrate access control hardware, including door controllers, readers, electronic locks, and associated management software.
- Deploy and configure IP camera and video surveillance systems including system setup, camera placement, and recording infrastructure.
- Ensure proper network segmentation and security practices for surveillance and access control systems.
Automation & Smart System Integration
- Build and deploy integrated automation environments for residential and commercial applications.
- Configure system automation platforms to integrate lighting, AV, cameras, access control, and other smart building technologies.
- Develop system layouts, device mapping, and programming necessary for full system functionality.
Testing, Commissioning & Support
- Perform system testing, diagnostics, and troubleshooting during installation and commissioning phases.
- Provide system documentation, configuration records, and operational guidance for clients and internal teams.
- Provide ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance for installed systems.
Qualifications:
Experience
- 3–5+ years experience in AV integration, low-voltage installation, or network system integration
- 2-3 years working with Linux-based networking environments
- Advanced familiarity in deploying UniFi networking equipment and software
- Installing and configuring IP camera systems
- Installing and integrating access control hardware
- Learning Integrating new automation platforms and system control environments
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of networking principles (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Experience with structured cabling and low-voltage infrastructure (Cat6, fiber, low voltage wiring)
- Familiarity with automation and control platforms (TotalControl, Lutron, Savant, etc.)
- Experience configuring IP-based AV systems
- Ability to read system drawings and integration documentation
- Regular installation/field work required
Preferred Certifications:
- Networking certifications (CompTIA Network+, CCNA, etc.)
- AV certifications (AVIXA CTS)
- Security system certifications
- Linux administration experience
