Plan machining operations by reviewing work orders, engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Review and interpret 3D CAD models to determine machining strategy, tool paths, and material removal processes.
Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs for milling, turning, and other machining operations using CAM software.
Determine machining sequences, tooling requirements, fixtures, and cutting parameters to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
Convert engineering and design specifications into Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programs.
Perform calculations to establish proper speeds, feeds, and cutting paths to maximize efficiency and maintain tight tolerances.
Test, validate, and revise CNC programs as needed to improve cycle times, reduce waste, and ensure production accuracy.
Qualifications
3 plus years of experience with CNC programming
Programming experience in WorkNC, Mastercam, PowerMill, or NX CAM
Familiar with the 3 and 5 Axis modules as well
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, Fidia or Heidenhain controllers
Strong ability to interpret drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and 3D CAD models
Knowledge of CNC milling and/pr turning processes, tooling, fixtures, and machining parameters
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in aerospace, automotive or defense is a plus
