Position Purpose:
The physical therapist assistant will work with the evaluating physical therapist to administer a medically prescribed physical therapy program for their assigned patients/clients. They will provide care under the supervision of the physical therapist responsible for a specific patient's/client's care.
What the Physical Therapist Assistant ( PTA ) Will Do:
Providing treatment and services withintheirlicense'sscope, andas required by lawand regulation.
Accountable for the implementation of a written treatment plan and administers treatment for each patientaccording to the stated goals.
Helpstrain patients andthe patient'sfamily in the use of medical equipment and make recommendations forappropriateequipmentas necessary.
Participates in planning for patient discharge by considering and communicating with patients,families, andcommunity.
Continuously assessespatient'sstatus and effects of treatment whenwarranted. Reviews goals withpatientandfamily asappropriate duringplanof care.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be a graduate from a physical therapist assistant training program accredited by American Physical TherapyAssociation.
Required:Associate degree
State of Michigan Physical Therapist Assistant License or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.
American Heart Association BLS or equivalent
