Position Summary
Under the supervision of Project Coordinator-Native Connections, member of the SAMHSA Native Connections Grant Evaluation Team providing project support and assistance in the collection, analysis and reporting to key stakeholders, Evaluation Team and funders. This is a grant funded position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor integrity and completeness of data. Support leadership in obtaining missing or additional data. Ensure data errors are addressed.
- Assist in the development of a system to track and monitor data related to suicide, substance use, trauma and other important health and safety issues to ensure comprehensive and quality data collection for analysis and early identification and prevention purposes.
- Regularly produce reports, graphs, tables, charts etc. that effectively presents and summarizes data for review by Native Connections Project Coordinator, Anishinaabe Bimaadziwin Edbaam-ji-ge-jik (ABE) Advisory Committee, Grants and Contracts, Tribal Administration and Tribal Council.
- Provide ad hoc statistical analyses and reporting, as requested.
- Collaborate with management on matters of best practices for appropriate benchmarking. Provide data trend information to support recommendations for action.
- Provide guidance and direction to staff and/or student workers related to data analyses duties, as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
- Contact with the Tribal community to include tribal youth, families, departments and employees.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Social Sciences or related field.
- Six months of experience in data analysis.
- Three years experience in administration of federal grants and contracts, and grant writing.
- An equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
- Experience with tribal departments.
- Must have knowledge of or experience with Native American communities.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in behavioral health research.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of data collection and analysis principles, procedures, and standards.
- Knowledge of current technological developments and trends in area of expertise.
- Knowledge of federal, state and community funding sources and mechanisms.
- Skill in collecting, analyzing, verifying, managing and manipulating research data.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to write, edit, and revise a range of technical communications from specifically compiled raw data.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
- Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with the individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to create and present effective speeches and presentations.
