Location: Ishpeming, MI
Cleveland-Cliffs has immediate openings for Assistant Operators at our Tilden Mine operation located in Ishpeming, Michigan. This position provides support for the pelletizing process.
Summary of Responsibilities
Observe operations within the pelletizing process.
Perform daily inspections on plant equipment.
Observe the balling process, adjusting as needed to maintain a stable operation.
Check process grate dust valves, ensuring process material is flowing properly.
Operate skid steers, front-end loaders, man lifts, overhead cranes as needed.
Load pellets into railroad cars from storage bin utilizing manual operated gates.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Must be at least 18 years of age
Have the ability to read, understand and follow safety information, operating instructions and procedure manuals
Excellent safety record and genuine concern for safety in the workplace
Excellent attendance record
Must be willing to work in a hot and dirty environment.
Must be willing to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends and holidays
Must be willing to work 12-hour shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of experience working in an industrial plant setting
