Job Title: CNC WorkNC Programmer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC WorkNC Programmer who will be responsible for programming 3 and 5 Axis Mills using WorkNC (Offline). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in prototype-focused machining and possess exceptional blueprint/GD&T skills.
Responsibilities
Plan and review upcoming projects, priorities, and machine availability with the Shop Supervisor on a daily basis.
Evaluate new parts requests, solid models, prints, and specifications for complexity, critical tolerances, and potential machining risks.
Program 3-axis and 5-axis CNC mills using WorkNC (offline).
Simulate programs within WorkNC prior to release to ensure tool clearance, collision avoidance, correct operation sequencing, and safe approach.
Generate roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing toolpaths from solid models.
Select appropriate machining strategies based on geometry, material type, surface finishing requirements, and machine capability.
Select cutting tools, holders, and tooling strategies for each job.
Define feeds, speeds, stepovers, and stepdown appropriate to material.
Program machining of various materials including aluminum, steel, and graphite.
Ensure machining strategies protect thin walls, critical surfaces, and tight tolerances.
Essential Skills
5+ years of programming 3 and 5 Axis CNC Machines.
Ability to program WorkNC offline, owning the entire CAM portion of the machining process.
Ability to work independently with Heidenhain, including editing programs at the machines and troubleshooting.

Work Environment
Work in a climate-controlled machine shop environment focused on automotive and aerospace prototypes, tooling, and fabrication. Our facility spans over 100,000 square feet, divided into five buildings. The first shift is from 6 am to 4:30 pm Monday to Friday, with additional hours on Saturdays from 6 am to noon. Expect to work 50-60 hours a week.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $38.00/hr.
