Description We are looking for a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team on a contract basis in Flint, Michigan. This role involves providing essential support to patients and staff in a healthcare setting, ensuring smooth operations and excellent service delivery. The position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to professionalism.
Responsibilities:
Schedule and manage appointments for patients, including reminder calls and follow-ups for missed appointments.
Verify and confirm medical insurance coverage, authorizations for services, and ability to pay.
Process patient payments, including copays and non-covered charges, with accuracy and efficiency.
Handle incoming and outgoing mail, and assist with mailing tasks as needed.
Support office operations by organizing meetings, appointments, and collaborating with staff, consultants, and volunteers.
Prepare documents such as memos, correspondence, and reports with attention to detail.
Provide coverage for office personnel during breaks, emergencies, or absences.
Enter, retrieve, and verify information within computer systems to maintain accurate records.
Assist with special projects and ensure effective communication with patients, staff, and external contacts. Requirements - Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures, particularly those related to Medicaid and clinical billing codes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook in a PC environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and display professionalism in all interactions.
Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
Experience in effectively responding to crisis situations and working collaboratively with others.
Ability to comprehend instructions and present information clearly in various settings.
