OpTech is seeking motivated Certified Medical Billers or Certified Professional Billers to join our client’s team. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to launch their healthcare billing career—no prior experience required!
Position Overview
The Medical Biller plays a key role in supporting accurate financial operations by ensuring timely, compliant billing and reimbursement. This role focuses on healthcare claims processing, particularly for Medicare (CMS) and Medicare Advantage plans. You’ll review and submit claims, manage denials, reconcile payments, and help maintain strong revenue cycle performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit complete, accurate claims including patient demographics, insurance details, ICD-10 diagnoses, and CPT/HCPCS codes
- Submit claims promptly to primary and secondary payers
- Review, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims
- Prepare and track appeals to optimize reimbursement
- Monitor A/R and follow up on outstanding claims
- Accurately post payments and reconcile remittance advice
- Generate submission and payer reports to support revenue cycle goals
- Prepare monthly provider and financial reports
- Maintain compliance with CMS, payer guidelines, and HIPAA regulations
- Partner with clinical and administrative teams to resolve billing discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate degree preferred)
- Certification as a Medical Biller and completion of a medical billing training program
- Working knowledge of Medicare and Medicare Advantage billing
- Proficiency with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Understanding of EOBs, remittance advice, and basic revenue cycle processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
