Position Offered: Senior Staff Field Applications Engineer (FAE)
Worksite: Farmington Hills, MI
Job Duties: Responsible for driving the design-in activities of the complete automotive microcontroller and SoC product portfolio in the Americas. Define new products in close cooperation with our innovative customers and our internal technical marketing and applications teams. Act as a technical interface liaison and consult our customers during the development of all automotive applications with particular focus on original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Derive customer system requirements and market trends to develop system value propositions together with internal interfaces (Product Marketers, Application Engineers, System Architects). Actively manage projects together in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing departments to achieve design-in targets. Establish and maintain excellent relationships with the customer engineering departments, with particular focus on OEMs.
Job Requirements: 36 months in job offered or related experience & master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical field
Education or experience to include:
- Microcontroller unit and System-On-Chip field application engineering, application engineering, or embedded hardware/software design, with automotive applications.
- Embedded C or C++ programming and debugging
- Automotive Functional Safety and Cybersecurity concepts
- SoC HW IPs such as ISP, NPU, GPU, CPU, or DSP
- AI / Machine Learning concepts tied to CNN processing, Localization, Object / Sensor fusion, Perception, Planning etc.
- Camera algorithms like Surround view, DMS / OMS and RADAR / LiDAR processing algorithms.
- Operating systems such as Linux, QNX, Android or Hypervisors
- Bring-up, testing, and debugging
