The City of Ionia Dial-A-Ride is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Public Transportation Dispatcher. This position is part-time with the potential of full-time.
Duties include answering phone calls, utilizing scheduling and dispatch software to book and assign trips, utilizing AVL software, customer service, sale of fare products, record keeping on a computer, two-way radio communication with drivers, and other duties as assgined.
Position reports to the Director of Transportation. Requires graduation from high school or an equivalent, computer proficiency, and completion of a pre-employment drug test. Minimum of one year of dispatch experience or similar preferred.
Starting wage: $17.59 – 20.31/hr. depending on experience and qualifications. All compensation and fringe benefits in accordance with AFSCME collective bargaining agreement.
In addition, appointment to this position on a permanent basis is contingent upon successful completion of the required probationary period.
