Supervise and conduct dynamometer-based performance, durability, and NVH testing on brake pads and brake systems at a friction material manufacturing company; analyze test modes required by clients such as GM, Ford, and STL, and perform programming of test modes according to dynamometer specifications; oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of dynamometer equipment and supervise test personnel to ensure accurate and reliable testing; manage analysis and documentation of test results, including pad life, efficiency, effectiveness, BTV, DTV, corrosion cleanability, and noise; coordinate with development, quality, and production teams to support problem-solving and process improvement; lead root cause analysis for test failures and prepare evaluation and performance reports; ensure calibration and tuning of equipment based on noise analysis; oversee preparation and modification of test samples and inspection of finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards; and supervise a test technician co-op.
Requirements:
Bachelor or foreign equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in brake dynamometer testing, data acquisition systems, noise analysis, and equipment calibration. Experience must include proficiency in test programming, data interpretation, and statistical analysis tools within an automotive parts manufacturing company.
