POSITION PURPOSE
The Pharmacy Technician Manager functions as the manager for the pharmacy technician team, overseeing daily operations, staffing, scheduling, and payroll. Handles hiring, performance coaching, evaluations, and corrective actions. Ensures compliance with HR and departmental policies, updates procedures, and works with leaders and customers to identify and implement process improvements that support safe, effective patient care.
Full-Time position scheduled 40 hours per week, on-site at Trinity Health Oakland in Pontiac, MI.
MINIUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Associate's Degree in Business, Healthcare or other related field is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Experience: Seven to Ten years of experience in inpatient pharmacy with progressively more responsibility.
Licensure: Current State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license and National Pharmacy Technician Certification required. Maintenance of twenty continuing education credits every two years, or as required for license and certification maintenance.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Oversees day-to-day work of pharmacy technician staff and ensures smooth, high-quality operations.
Manages the hospital's medication distribution workflow and adjusts technician duties as needed.
Assigns and tracks administrative tasks and department projects to keep work moving on schedule.
Works with other SEMI facilities to coordinate technician staffing, both routinely and when urgent needs come up.
Reviews and adjusts technician schedules to maintain continuous pharmacy coverage.
Aligns staffing and assignments with workload changes and supports technicians working in expanded roles.
Manages payroll, PTO requests, and overtime for direct reports.
Monitors the technician staffing budget and makes adjustments when needed.
Recruits and hires licensed technicians and technician-in-training candidates.
Work collaboratively with department staff to ensure USP 797, 795 and 800 standard compliance.
