Our client, a leading manufacturer specializing in high-quality furniture, is seeking a High-End Furniture Finishing Artisan to join their dedicated team. As a High-End Furniture Finishing Artisan, you will be an integral part of the finishing department supporting craftsmanship and quality assurance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, a passion for craftsmanship, and a commitment to excellence, which will align successfully within the organization.
Job Title: High-End Furniture Finishing Artisan
Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan
Pay Range: $35/hr plus OT, benefits
What's the Job?
Create heirloom-quality furniture by applying a variety of hand wood finishing techniques, including bleach, hand stain, seal, glaze, shade, rub, topcoat, and wax
Maintain quality and safety standards with all shop and finishing equipment
Continuously identify and help implement processes and procedures that improve overall quality and safety
Strive for excellence through attention to detail, dedication to superior quality, continuous improvement, and passion for the product
What's Needed?
3-10+ years of experience in wood finishing
Experience with spray stain, wipe stain, glaze, shading, topcoat, and lacquer applications is highly preferred
High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
Exceptional communication skills with all team members
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written information, including engineering drawings
