Job Description
The Accounting Clerk will perform complex clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments.
The Accounting Clerk will compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. May also check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.

Process accounts payable for assigned co-ops
Process accounts receivable for assigned co-ops
Process checks for assigned co-ops
File for assigned co-ops
Complete additional accounting projects as needed
Assist accountants as needed
Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Accounting Clerks generally work in an office environment.
Physical demands
This position requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time and significant amount of time on the phone.
Must be able to push/pull/lift up to 30 pounds

Required education and experience
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
