Description We are looking for a highly skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper to join a reputable non-profit organization in Port Huron, Michigan. This long-term contract position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing diverse accounting tasks independently. Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with accuracy and efficiency.
Perform detailed bank and account reconciliations to ensure financial records are complete and aligned.
Prepare and post journal entries to maintain precise and up-to-date accounting records.
Compile and analyze financial statements, providing insights into the organization's fiscal health.
Execute month-end close procedures, ensuring all transactions are documented and finalized.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain accuracy across financial reporting.
Utilize QuickBooks to manage and track all financial activities effectively.
Collaborate with team members to support organizational financial goals and compliance requirements.
Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records to uphold data integrity.
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and best practices in all bookkeeping tasks. Requirements - Minimum of 3 years' experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting role.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and the ability to navigate its features independently.
Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
Proven experience in preparing financial statements and conducting month-end closures.
Expertise in bank and account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation.
Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and record management.
Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
Solid knowledge of accounting principles and practices relevant to the role.
