Description
The Middle School Football Coaching & Development Liaison provides leadership and coordination for the youth and middle school football programs, ensuring alignment with the football program philosophy, player development standards, and administrative expectations. This role supports coaches through training, mentorship, and oversight in partnership with EGR Parks & Recreation staff & Vertical Alignment staff.
Essential Job Functions
The Middle School Football Coaching & Development Liaison shall:
Serve as the liaison between the varsity football program and youth/middle school football programs.
Support vertical alignment initiatives across youth, middle school, and high school football.
Act as a resource and mentor for youth and middle school football coaches.
Plan and deliver football-specific coach training and development sessions.
Ensure coaches follow expectations set by the varsity head coach and Parks & Recreation.
Assist with preseason player evaluations and youth football draft processes.
Support post-season coach evaluations.
Assist middle school coaches with practice planning and playing-time protocols.
Help ensure middle school football games are filmed and uploaded to Hudl.
Maintain professional conduct and represent the football program positively.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Qualifications and Expectations
Strong knowledge of football fundamentals, rules, and player development.
Ability to communicate effectively with coaches, parents, players, and officials.
Ability to manage conflict professionally.
Availability and commitment for the full football season.
Prior playing or coaching experience in football required.
Commitment to serving as a positive role model and mentor.
Certifications and Requirements
Completion of Heads Up Concussion training prior to the start of the season.
Compliance with all school district and Parks & Recreation policies.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
The physical demands and work environment described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position.
The employee may occasionally lift or move football equipment of light to moderate weight.
The employee will regularly work outdoors on football fields and athletic facilities and may be required to engage in moderate physical activity, including setting up equipment and participating in drills.
Outdoor work occurs in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, and on uneven playing surfaces.
The position requires sufficient strength, stamina, and physical coordination to actively demonstrate football techniques and ensure player safety.
Noise levels during practices and games may be moderate to loud.
