We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Trailer Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with heavy equipment, and the ability to perform complex repairs and maintenance on trailers and related equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of machinery, tools, industrial equipment, and diagnostic systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards. Candidates with dealership experience and proficiency in diagnostics are highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain trailers, trucks, and heavy equipment using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Perform repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, shocks & struts
- Conduct wheel alignments, tire services, welding, soldering, and fabrication tasks as needed
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential mechanical failures or safety hazards
- Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards
- Assist in assembly or disassembly of trailer components and perform equipment repair as required
Requirements
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in diagnostics and heavy equipment repair
- Prior dealership experience is highly desirable
- Proficiency in working with schematics, electrical systems, hydraulics and air brakes
- Skilled in welding, fabrication, tire service, alignment procedures, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting regularly
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures including suspension repairs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
