The Nurse Practitioner is a key associate at Hope Network whose primary responsibilities include: Provides professional services in collaboration with licensed physician within scope of practice/certification, including, but not limited to: completes comprehensive history and physical examination, formulates diagnosis, develops/implements treatment plan.; prescribes medications, orders and evaluates diagnostic tests; teaches and counsels individuals, families and groups. This position promotes recovery-based, person-centered, and culturally competent practices.

What You’ll Do
- Makes treatment decisions within authority delegated by collaborating physician, including ordering lab tests and prescribing medications.
- Orders referrals, consultations, therapeutic services, and confers with other specialists on course of care and treatment.
- Analyzes issues such as social, economic and family dynamics as well as the disease or injury that might cause the patient to seek medical care.
- Evaluates patients’ educational needs and provides appropriate educational information and/or materials.
- Obtains appropriate consent as necessary.
- Ensures completeness of person served record upon admission to the program.
- Reviews and regularly familiarizes self with person served treatment plans.
- Signs and countersigns standing and verbal medical orders as required by federal and state law.
- Documents verbal and standing orders within 72 hours of them being given
- Ensures that justification is recorded in the person served Chart when treatment is initiated and when the frequency of treatment is changed.
- Reviews and follows up on lab and testing results, general correspondence, etc., both on location and at a distance through use of electronic medical record (EMR).
- Evaluates treatment according to defined quality measures.
- Documents all services using EMR.
- Completes periodic quality reviews as assigned.
- Provides direction for nursing care to program nurses when appropriate.
- Takes ownership of schedule and takes initiative to seek out opportunities to effectively maximize work schedule to the benefit of patient care and organizational need.
What You Bring
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) -OR- Doctoral degree in Nursing Practice (DNP) is required.
- Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license -AND- board certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is required.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; ability to make quality, independent decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a strong customer-service orientation.
- Credentialing ability on all professional levels.
- Exercises independent judgment to plan, organize and carry out diagnostic and treatment activities.
- Prior work experience in a similar role of 1 -3 years is required.
- Two years previous experience as an NP or five years practice in Nursing in healthcare setting is preferred.
