A Community Nutrition Specialist, under the supervision of the Maternal/Child Services Supervisor, certifies participants to receive WIC benefits, provides nutritional and health risk dietary counseling, provides group and individual risk and nutritional education. An employee in this class makes referrals to the Maternal/Child Services Supervisor or other Health Department programs and community social agencies and develops care plans and completes WIC documentation in accordance with Federal, State and local guidelines and performs other related duties as assigned.
