Role Summary: Reporting to the Division Manager, the Technical Inside Sales Representative shall have a clear understanding of the components of the products and the ability to demonstrate how they work. Responsibilities will include understanding the customers' application and recommending products and solutions for their needs. The person in this role should be knowledgeable about our competing products and should have the ability to break down technical terminology to non-technical clients. To be a successful Technical Inside Sales Representative, you should be able to develop an excellent rapport with existing customers, source new clients, and work closely with our vendors.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the Technical Inside Sales Representative position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:
Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers
Respond promptly to customer inquiries
Communicate with customers and vendors through various channels
Understand the technical needs of the customer and suggesting appropriate products and services
Explain complex technical information to customers in a way that is easily understandable
Follow up with customers and resolve any issues that may arise
Engage in product training and development of new and existing team members
Understand P& ;ID drawings and specifications
Product line champion for assigned products
Stay current on new and evolving product offerings; utilize knowledge in selling activities
Manage vendor relationships and maintain our internal database with pricing and sales information
Keep customers and colleagues informed about new technological products
Compile proposals and reports related to technical products
Update records of customer communication and contact information
Process orders, quotes, and requests
Communicate and coordinate with colleagues, as necessary
Make outbound calls to potential customers and follow up on quotes and leads
Understand customers' needs and identifying sales opportunities
Answer customers' questions and send additional information
Maintain a database of current and potential customers
Upsell products and services
Close sales and achieving sales targets
Occasional travel to branches or to business-related functions such as training or seminars
Perform other duties and projects as assigned

What you'll need:
Work Experience: 3 years of industrial sales or customer service experience
Education: Bachelor's or technical certification or equivalent work experience
Analytical/Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and bid specifications
Organization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment
Cross-functional skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; provides excellent internal and external customer service
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal communications, problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skills
