Overview
Mars United Commerce is currently seeking a Senior Specialist, Media Strategy. This position is responsible for developing Consumer Promotions and National Shopper media strategies for assigned brands and leading growth of assigned businesses. CPG and retail media experience is strongly preferred. Candidates must reside in a commutable distance to one of Mars United Commerce's hub locations: Minneapolis (preferred location), Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, New York, Denver, Bentonville, Dallas, Seattle or Nashville.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client-facing role supporting planning and leading execution of best-in-class national consumer promotions and shopper media campaigns
Execution of consumer promotion tactics including experiential, sweeps, sampling, digital coupons, rebates, influencers, etc.
Ongoing campaign monitoring and management and working with vendors to identify and implement campaign optimizations
Report back on campaign performance. Collaborate with vendor and team to provide campaign data, insights and strategic recommendations based on client objectives, media strategy and results
Have clear understanding of campaign set-up, performance, measurement and KPIs, as well as clearly set and communicate performance expectations with internal and external teams
Support AdOps by calculating estimated fees for ad tagging & verification, submitting tagging request and monitoring pacing
End to end campaign management delivering final approved plans to market
Cross functional collaboration in ensuring all vendor deliverables are met
Management of budgets, ensuring all client facing documents are accurate, and all vendor savings are documented for financial reporting
Management of program trackers and timelines
Management of third-party consumer promotions and shopper vendor partners
Identify new vendors and set up capabilities meetings to educate internal teams
RFP vendors to develop and collaborate on targeting, rates and refine overall executional plan based on client objective, media strategy and vendor capabilities
SKILLSETS REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in advertising, marketing, related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
2-4 years of shopper, consumer promotions, digital media or retail media experience working in an agency setting, CPG and/or retail media experience strongly preferred
Keen attention to detail with strong mathematical and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace skills including expert proficiency in applications such as Excel/Sheets, PowerPoint/Slides and Word/Docs
Able to build relationships across the team, department, vendors and clients
Detail oriented with ability to track and reconcile budgets to fine level of detail
Must be an excellent collaborator, willing to lean in and work closely with internal and external teams in a virtual team environment
Must have a strong level of understanding of media performance principals including KPI performance (formulas, insights), as well as an understanding of operations process (trafficking, optimizing and tagging media)
Able to communicate clearly, thoroughly, succinctly and in a timely manner both verbally and in writing; follow up on outstanding issues; ask questions

Compensation Range: $64,000 - $75,000. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
