DESCRIPTION:
The Lead Cashier will work under the supervision of the C-Store Manager and Assistant Manager to create positive customer experience for all who enter the property. The Lead Cashier will perform a variety of cashier functions within the assigned cashier area. This position is also required to ensure the cleanliness and organization of the store both inside and outside. Will be responsible for supervision of the staff in the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager. Will assist management with all operational duties as needed. Will respond positively to questions and inquiries from the public.
Primary Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide excellent service to guests, internal and external, through active guest engagement and positive attitude.
-Shall be required to read, implement, and adhere to all NWCR Policies and Procedures, LVD Gaming Ordinance, Tribal/State Gaming Compact, NIGC
Minimum Internal Control Standards, Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, LVD
Tribal Internal Control Standards, Title 31 Minimum Internal Control Standards,
NWCR Casino Employee Handbook, Convenience Store Department Policy and Procedure Manual.
-Assist with training new employees on the POS system and daily operational duties.
-Clear knowledge of Casino/ C-Store policies and procedures.
-Operating the cash register and running credit cards transactions. Assist cashiers with these transactions as needed.
-Required to have some product knowledge to assist with inquiries or questions from the public.
-Responsible for accurate handling of monies including ensuring accuracy of money in, money out of cash bank.
-Ensure all employees are verifying age of customers if they purchase alcohol or cigarettes (Card all customers who look under the age of 40).
-Assist with creating employee schedules and filling in voids when necessary.
-Alert Management and/or I.T. when technical problems arise that you are unable to solve without assistance.
-Corroborate with Management to ensure staff are completing required documentation/forms in a timely manner.
-Assist with vendors, create orders and inventory merchandise.
-Sweep and mop floor as needed.
-Clean gas station bathrooms as needed.
-Stock products to shelves and coolers, check expiration dates, ensure only fresh/intact products are sold.
-To remain in compliance with Casino Regulatory policies and procedures, employees are required to attend all necessary meetings and training facilitated by Management.
-Due to changes and modifications in jobs from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management.
Skills & Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
-High School Diploma/GED required.
-At least 3 years of prior cashiering experience in a retail setting.
-Strong mathematical aptitude is required.
-Friendly and courteous disposition required.
-Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
-Exceptional time management/punctuality.
-Previous experience with providing customer service.
-Subject to a variety of environmental conditions.
-Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, kneel and stand for an extended amount of time.
-Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
-Must be able to work all shifts assigned, including weekends and holidays.
-Must pass background checks and other pre-employment screenings necessary to receive and maintain a Gaming License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
-Previous money handling experience is preferable.
-Casino related experience is desired.
