Role Purpose
The Machining Team Leader provides frontline leadership for production operations within the machining environment. Their objectives are to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing performance across a rotating shift environment. This role is responsible for directing daily activities, developing employees, and optimizing the use of people, equipment, and materials to meet production, quality, and delivery goals. The Team Leader builds a disciplined, high-performance culture by driving process adherence, supporting continuous improvement, and fostering strong collaboration between production operators and cross-functional support teams. Through effective coaching, communication, and problem-solving, the Team Leader strengthens workforce capability and enables consistent, predictable operations in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead shift operations to achieve production goals.
Provide focus and direction to production employees.
Manage resources (people, materials, equipment) to optimize throughput and quality.
Balance production with validation runs, equipment upgrades, process improvements and maintenance activities.
Meet all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
Create and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Build a culture of process discipline and change management.
Track and report production metrics.
Develop staffing and training plans for production operators.
Build effective relationships with operators and support groups.
Perform employee performance reviews. Administer feedback and recognition when appropriate.
Onboard and train production workforce, achieving maximum workforce flexibility.
Execute operating plan to achieve team objectives
Provide immediate supervision to subordinates to execute assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies
Work Hours
Rotating 12-hour shift schedule (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am) following a 2-3-2 pattern, alternating between day and night shifts every two weeks.
Flexibility required to support weekend or evening operational needs, including occasional coverage for shift supervisors on the 12-hour rotation when necessary.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or related technical field
2+ years of manufacturing and engineering experience.
Leadership experience (work, school, community)
Required Skills

Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and lead subordinates, providing clear direction and establishing expectations.

The range for this position is $63,086.00 - $86,743.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
