Huron Academy is a tuition free public charter school for K-8th located in Clinton Township. We offer smaller class sizes, a hands on science program, character education, and strong academic programs. Latchkey and preschool classes are offered five days a week throughout the year.
Summary:
We are seeking a reliable Latchkey/Lunch Aide to join our team to provide supervision and support for students during the before and after school hours, as well as during lunch periods. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient, and committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere for children.
Responsibilities:

Supervise students during latchkey hours before school, after school, and during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules to maintain a respectful and orderly environment.

Assist students with homework and schoolwork, providing support and guidance as needed.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding student behavior and any relevant issues.

Manage conflicts and resolve issues in a calm and constructive manner, fostering a positive atmosphere.

Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lunch area and latchkey program space.

Attend training sessions and staff meetings as necessary to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position.

Other duties as assigned
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in child development, education, or related fields is a plus.

Previous experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to children and their families.

Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and maintain a positive attitude.
