Building laboratory prototype models for testing.

Perform routine laboratory tests and analyses using various analytical instruments and techniques, including but not limited to spectrophotometry, colorimetry, and titration.

Prepare and standardize chemical solutions, reagents, and samples according to established protocols.

Maintain accurate records of experimental data, observations, and results.
-
Assist in the calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
-
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
-
Maintain clean lab working area after completion of job tasks and dispose of debris properly.

Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Education and/or Experience:
-
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
-
Previous experience operating or working around heavy equipment.
-
Previous laboratory experience or coursework in analytical chemistry and/or hydraulics laboratory. Experience with inductively coupled plasma (ICP) analysis is an asset.

Ability to work with general tools and build prototypes with minimal supervision
-
General knowledge of lifting and loading techniques
-
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
-
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
-
Ability to stand for long periods of time with regular stretch breaks
-
Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
-
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing priorities and tasks.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

Work can be performed at heights, requiring the employee to climb and balance in ladders, scaffolds and stair towers, often with narrow steps and passageways.

Work Environment

Work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, dirt, grease, and dust that is typically associated with a construction project.

Employee regularly works with or near heavy equipment and moving machinery.

Work may involve a variety of substances or materials commonly found on construction sites such as form oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt and concrete.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts, frequently walks on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes, in varying weather conditions, and is regularly exposed to wet, humid condition airborne particles, and extreme heat or cold.

The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but may require protective equipment at some facilities.
