Job Description
We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team, focusing on creating detailed 3D models and assembly drawings using SolidWorks. The role involves the design and development of complete chassis systems, chassis components, chassis cabs, and various other mechanical parts. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in mechanical design and demonstrate high proficiency in 3D solid modeling. Collaboration with the shop floor to verify fit and function is essential to ensure designs are accurately translated into physical components. Precision and timeliness are crucial to meet project requirements.
Responsibilities
Create detailed 3D models and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
Design and develop complete chassis systems, components, and mechanical parts.
Collaborate with the shop floor to verify fit and function of designs.
Ensure designs are accurately translated into physical components.
Essential Skills
5+ years of experience in mechanical design using SolidWorks 3D.
Experience designing fabricated metal components.
Experience working on the floor with manufacturing to support troubleshooting.
Understanding of tolerance standards (ANSI/ASME, GD&T).
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience creating Bill of Materials (BOM).
Experience with air and hydraulic schematics.
Experience in heavy truck or transportation chassis design.
Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) certification.
Work Environment
The role is based in an engineering building, working alongside other engineers, primarily in a cubicle setting with some interaction on the shop floor for verification and troubleshooting. The project team comprises ten engineers, including eight Design Engineers and two Electrical Engineers. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7 or 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. There is an option for a four-day work week (Monday to Thursday, 6 AM to 4 PM), which can be arranged after the first day. The role does not include paid time off but offers six holidays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $46.00/hr.
