Position Summary:
An Educator of Patient Care Services works as an educator/ practitioner within the Obstetrical and Neonatal areas of nursing.
The Educator of Patient Care Services assists in the development, revision and implementation of policies, procedures and protocols associated with the nursing practice and serves as a clinical resource and consultant to the nursing staff in caring for Obstetrical adult and Neonatal patients.

ssential Functions and Responsibilities:
1.
Develops, coordinates and implements educational programs. Works collaboratively with the various education departments within the facility and corporation.
2.
Organizes and participates in interdisciplinary educational programs for health care professionals.
3.
Evaluates quality of practice in relation to established professional and legal standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Michigan
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing obtained within 3 years
Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg experience with a minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery/Neonatal Nursing
BLS Required
AAP Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) Certification required, with NRP Instructor certification within 6 months of hire
AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring completion required, with EFM Instructor certification within 1 year of hire
National Certification in Inpatient Obstetrics or Electronic Fetal Monitoring required within 6 months of hire
Preferred:
ACLS Certification preferred
ALSO Certification preferred
STABLE Training preferred
Master's Degree in Nursing
