- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least three years working in a human resources or related area, preferably in a higher education setting.
- Experience handling confidential information.
- Experience with best practices for inclusive hiring.
- Experience with FMLA, ADA, HIPPA, FERPA, and other HR policies
- Experience working with faculty affairs (promotion/tenure, appointments, casebooks, etc.)
- Experience working with MPathways systems, Business Objects, PeoplePay, and SmartPath
- Knowledge of University of Michigan's policies and procedures
- Society of Human Resources Management Certification
