Position Summary

The CMM Programmer supports the Quality and Manufacturing organizations in achieving departmental goals and objectives by providing advanced CMM programming expertise for both existing machining processes and new product development (NPD). This role serves as a technical leader in measurement systems, programming best practices, and continuous improvement, while mentoring and supporting CMM Programmers and manufacturing personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Write, develop, validate, debug, and optimize CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso, including complete supporting documentation
• Serve as a technical resource for complex inspection strategies, measurement methods, and GD&T interpretation
• Communicate and collaborate with supervisors, engineers, quality, and skilled trades to support shop floor and customer requirements
• Lead and support the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of measurement systems and programming practices
• Recommend and implement programming best practices and lean measurement strategies as directed
• Design or support the design of work-holding and fixturing for part inspection
• Troubleshoot and resolve CMM machine issues, program errors, and measurement discrepancies
• Support New Product Development (NPD) measurement planning and First Article Inspection (AS9102) activities
• Train and mentor manufacturing and quality personnel on CMM operation, programming concepts, and inspection methods
• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection efficiency, accuracy, and repeatability
• Support internal and external audits as a subject matter expert when required
• Comply with all PAC policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Required & Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in a manufacturing, engineering, or technology-related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 10+ years of successful CMM programming and inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong, hands-on experience with CMM programming and Zeiss Calypso (required)
• Working knowledge of CAD systems (Camworks, Mastercam or equivalent)
• Advanced understanding of blueprint reading and GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
• Experience using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, pin/thread gauges, indicators, height gauges, optical comparators)
• Working knowledge of machine design, tooling, fixturing, work-holding, and inspection setup techniques
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Ability to train and mentor others effectively
• Eligibility to work with sensitive controlled data and materials in accordance with ITAR requirements
