We are currently looking for a Quality Engineering Supervisor to join our team in Holland, MI.
Job Overview
The Quality Engineering Supervisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering quality systems, disciplines, and programs across multiple value streams to ensure full compliance with product and process requirements for diverse product lines. This role provides strong leadership in driving continuous quality improvement initiatives, including participation in Customer Service, Quality Governance, strategic planning, budget development, program management, and corporate project support.
The supervisor leads an engineering team by setting clear priorities, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring timely completion of tasks aligned with organizational goals. Core responsibilities include overseeing quality data generation through inspections, audits, and testing; facilitating waste elimination and cycle time reduction efforts; managing gauge calibration and corrective action processes; and supporting member resource development to strengthen team capability. The position also guides structured problemsolving efforts, ensuring decisions align with company policies, procedures, and overall project objectives.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise a team of engineers and/or technical staff:Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to a team of engineers and/or technical staff.
Address performance issues:Address performance issues in a timely and professional manner, providing coaching and support as needed.
Assign and oversee projects and tasks:Assign projects and tasks to team members, ensuring clear understanding of objectives, deadlines, and quality standards.
Conduct performance evaluations:Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for growth and development.
Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, promoting member engagement, sustainability, and continuous improvement.
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment:Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence.
Manage team resources and budget:Manage team resources, including time, budget, and materials, to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
Monitor team performance and provide feedback:Monitor team performance, track progress against goals, and provide regular feedback to team members.
Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Engineering Management or similar field of study
Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
Work Experience: 3 years Quality/Engineering experience in a manufacturing or product development setting
Supervisory Experience: 2 years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Quality Management practices and systems
Background in Manufacturing Engineering
Strong emphasis on Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies
Proven Project Management experience
CQE and/or CQM certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ)
Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems
Familiarity with Python for data analysis or automation is a plus
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
Working knowledge of the Six Sigma/DMAIC framework
Industry experience in contract office furniture, automotive, or manufacturing sectors
