JOB TITLE: General Laborer (2+)

GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent, a GC General Laborer is a non-exempt seasonal position responsible for maintenance of the golf course. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Maintains and cuts grass on tee boxes, fairways and roughs.
2. Maintains bunkers.
3. Assists with sodding and trimming.
4. Uses equipment such as rough mowers, rollers, bunker rakes, carts, push mowers and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools.
5. Observes all Club safety practices and protocols.
6. Punctual and consistent attendance is an essential function.
7. Performs other required tasks and duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 18 years of age. High school degree or equivalent; or in pursuit. Must have a valid Michigan Driver’s license with a good driving record. Must be able to pass a drug test and background check. Works cooperatively with others in a team environment. Previous Golf Course maintenance experience preferred.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:(With or without reasonable accommodation) Work tasks are performed mainly outdoors and involve physical strength and endurance. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather. Position requires walking and standing for long periods of time. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Requires standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing. Medium Work: Must be able to exert and lift 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and 10-25 lbs. of force frequently and up to 10 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis to move objects.
