POSITION AVAILABLE: THERMOFORMING MACHINE OPERATOR - 3RD SHIFT
The Thermoforming Machine Operator, loads, operates, unloads, trims and tends to the plastic thermoforming machines to produce custom thermoformed packaging. Utilizes retained knowledge of products and material, as well as following ISO 9001 established procedures to produce top quality products. Applies visual inspection and basic mechanical aptitude to ensure product meets customer specifications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Keep clean & orderly work stations; including machines and equipment by maintaining a high level of Housekeeping and 5S of assigned lines and designated areas.
Follow all safety policies and procedures, including LOTO to meet company standards.
Recognize and correct safety hazards as they are identified and notify the appropriate personnel.
Load plastic sheet into machines and cycle, while maintaining awareness of any machine related issues.
Unload part and trim using a router, finishing tools and perform any assembly, as needed.
Monitor machines for mechanical issues by visual and auditory inspection.
Take corrective action and assist in problem solving for machine issues and notify the appropriate personnel.
Obtain & ensure all correct stock and materials are used at all times and located by machine.
Perform in-process inspection of parts and ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance and conformance.
Recognize product defects and adjust equipment as necessary.
Review and maintain required logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders.
Calculate dimension, size, shape, and tolerance of tooling and equipment based on specification and monitor product quality by use of visual inspection and other quality and dimensional measuring tools.
Cut/Grind/Recycle and Dispose of scrap plastic.
Assist in on-the-job training and coaching of team members and support other machine operators as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous Production Experience preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Lift up to 50lbs unassisted
Standing/Walking for full shift
Lift/Bend - Stack parts from floor level to above head frequently.
