Responsible for overseeing and developing all aspects of the Quality System to ensure compliance with regulations and Company needs, as well as providing a strategic vision of the quality function for the Company; responsible for the management and development of the Quality Team; oversee Quality Department composed of three main pillars: Advanced/Supplier Quality & QMS, Quality Engineering & Control, and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS); responsible for the development and oversight of standard training assessments, training program, and problem solving tools, including 8D and 5 Why, within the Quality organization and across the enterprise; ensure that internal processes and metrics are aligned to create the highest product quality and competitive advantage; formulate and maintain quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals; provide leadership and strategic direction to the Quality and EHS function and ensure proper interface of the Quality function to manufacturing; create a strategic vision of the Company’s Quality and EHS programs for each area and ensure adequate deployment; build up a strong performing Quality and EHS organization with a clear vision and mission to support growth and expansion; interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel in organization; review the analysis of all customer returns and excess quality costs reports, and ensure that quality problems and trends are identified and that proper corrective actions are implemented; coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other operations directors and plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs; utilize negotiation, MS Project, Six Sigma, quality assurance, Minitab, and SPC to perform duties; responsible for adherence to specifications and procedures that have been established to ensure product quality; manage, coach, lead, and collaborate with staff and Quality and EHS leaders, both at plant and corporate level; assist Quality Managers and other staff to establish measurable objectives to track process performance; establish initiatives with executive staff to improve organizational performance; develop and deploy the Quality management and EHS System across the Company, and ensure that process and procedures are adhered to and are consistent across all functions and facilities; periodically review the suitability and effectiveness of the Quality management and EHS System with executive management; build strong relationship with customers and ensure that customer requirements are well understood and deployed; work with cross-functional teams and leaders to drive continuous improvement initiatives to continually improve product quality with an emphasis on problem solving; assure that executive staff is informed of any issues that may adversely impact the Quality or EHS Systems; establish and maintain Department budget; provide overall technical quality engineering guidance in the development and qualification of measuring systems; and participate in management review meetings in accordance with the provisions of the Quality and EHS System.
Location: Redford, MI and various unanticipated locations throughout the US;
Salary: $188,375 per year;

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as a Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement, as a Quality Director, as a Quality Key Account Manager, as a Quality Manager, or in a related occupation;
