About you and this role
Dowhas an exciting opportunity for a Sr. IT Analyst on the ED&A Data Technology & Architecture Team located inMidland, MI or Houston, TX.
You will:
Make significant technical contributions to critical data initiatives within our team at Dow.
Be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data governance solutions to enable business objectives and accelerate Dow's digital transformation.
Focus on developing scalable and efficient data processing pipelines, implementing data integration and transformation processes, and ensuring the availability, security, and performance of data and analytics solutions.
You will be working with a cross-functional team that includes Solution Managers, Data Governance Managers, and Data Owners.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and support data governance solutions using SAP BODS.
Work closely with SAP ECC HANA systems for data migration, replication, and transformation.
Develop and maintain integrations using IDOCs and BAPIs.
Manage, cleanse, and govern master data using SAP Master Data suites (e.g., MDG or equivalent).
Collaborate with functional and business teams to understand master data requirements and ensure data quality.
Develop automation scripts and data utilities using Python.
Build and customize business applications and workflows using Microsoft Power Apps.
Enable data validation, reconciliation, and error handling across SAP and non-SAP systems.
Participate in system upgrades, data migration projects, and ongoing operational support.
Create technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
Continuously explores and adopts new technologies and best practices to improve our data infrastructure.
Ensures Service Management standards are implemented and executed.
Ensures technical, architecture, and application designs align to company IT architecture and security standards.
Core Technical Expertise
Concepts, how to, and best practices, along with hands on knowledge and experience in:
SAP BODS (Business Objects Data Services)
SAP HANA
SAP ECC
IDOC and BAPI-based integrations
SAP Master Data suites (such as SAP MDG)
SQL Databases
Python scripting for data processing and automation
Microsoft Power Platform
data integration, ETL concepts, and data governance
DevOps practices and tools, understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), and familiarity with cloud services and infrastructure
Agility: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Agile software development methodologies and work processes, especially Scrum.
Engineering Mindset and Professional Growth
Technical Design Contribution: Ability to rapidly synthesize information and contribute clear, well-documented technical specifications and architectural diagrams to the design process.
Feature Ownership: Demonstrated history of taking ownership of complex features and modules within larger projects, driving them to completion, and managing technical dependencies autonomously.
Pragmatism and Initiative: A strong bias for action, coupled with a pragmatic approach to delivering stable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions.
Communication & Influence: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical designs to both peers and senior stakeholders, effectively influencing technical decisions.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degreeorrelevant military experience at or above a U.S. E5 rankingorCanadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant OR 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 2 years of professional relevant experience
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Business Processes: Understandinghow business functions operate and how technology enables or improves them. This includes partnering with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions align with functional needs.
Technical Support / Troubleshooting: The ability to diagnose, investigate, and resolve issues in applications, systems, integrations, or infrastructure-especially in cloud, SAP, Windows/Linux, or DevSecOps environments.
Detail-Oriented Documentation: Creating accurate, complete technical documentation-including integration specifications, solution designs, process flows, and system configurations-ensuring clarity and adherence to architecture and compliance standards.
