Position Title: Construction Assistant Project Manager \u2013 Level III
Position Location: Detroit, MI \u2013 possible relocation assistance available

Job Summary
The Construction Assistant Project Manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of a project. This person will work as part of the project team and interact closely with the owner, designers, contractors, subcontractors, and other trades on projects in commercial and mission critical environments.
The role may assist with the permitting process, evaluating bid proposals, developing a construction master plans and schedules, performing site inspections, facilitating communication and ensures compliance with owner's requirements, applicable laws, and specifications.
The Construction Assistant Project Manager will receive general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments. May work independently or under immediate supervision. May serve as lead on routine projects of limited scope.
The Construction Assistant Project Manager will communicate and operate in line with organizational and client goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.
Essential Functions
Assist or Lead All Elements of Routine Projects (65%)
• Manage pre-construction elements including project initiation, kickoff, RFIs and submittals
• Coordinate and support resource and material forecasting
• Manage and monitoring schedule
• Schedule project meetings, including develop agendas and notes
• Ensure timely and effective management and delivery of projects
• Prepare cost and time schedules for proposed work with the aid of team leaders. Assign and schedule duties to project team members.
• Evaluate and review subcontractor proposals and provide recommendations on contract award
Administrative (25%)
• Provide daily reporting via narrative and photographic documentation
• Assist in project contract administration
• Assist with project closeout
• Manage personal and project hours using company tools
• Create / complete project and departmental reports
Manage Stakeholder Relations (10%)
• Primary contact for offsite owner and build effective, long-term client relationships
• Ensure client satisfaction through active communication
Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned
Requirements
Position Requirements (Intermediate level for all the following)
• Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace
• Knowledge of project management software such as Procore
• Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
• Knowledge of the importance of the Method of Procedure (MOP) Process, work notifications and protection of IT network and other equipment during construction
• Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
• Ability to follow company and site safety requirements
• Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form (technical and non-technical information)
• Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently with moderate supervision
• Ability to be on site a minimum of M-F during project duration and work non-traditional hours at times
• Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
• Ability to effectively plan and delegate the work of others
• Organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Travel Requirements
• Located in Detroit, MI and able to be onsite daily M-F and work non-traditional hours at times (some weekends and night shifts required)
• Temporary / Permanent relocation assistance available to Detroit, MI
• After completion of initial project, able to travel to future project location to be on site weekly or possible temporary relocation
Education / Experience Requirements
• Trade school certification in associated field
OR
• Military training / certification in related fields
OR
• Minimum of two years of related industry or construction experience
PLUS
• Additional three years of related industry or construction experience
