Teacher Assistant
Job Summary: As the Summer Advantage Teacher Assistant, you are responsible for serving as a mentor to our scholars. As a constant for our scholars throughout the day, our Teacher Assistants are expected to build a strong rapport with our scholars which uniquely position them to support scholars' success throughout the day.
Job Responsibilities:
Ability to work the entirety of the program (including attending training prior to program start)
Responsible for building a rapport with their scholars that supports positive behavior and providing scholar supervision throughout the day
Support scholar arrival and dismissal, lead breakfast and community time and escort scholars to lunch and/ or recess
Responsible for supporting both morning academic lesson plans and afternoon enrichment lesson plans, ensuring scholars are paying attention and engaged
Lead a small group workshop as assigned by their Academic Lead Teacher
Responsible for supporting Friday field trips, college visits and service learning projects
Assist in the creation and maintenance of a healthy, safe and engaging classroom culture
Experience and Education Requirements :
Experience working with youth
Associate degree or some college preferred
Ability to maintain a professional appearance
Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to implementing the SA program model with fidelity.
Maintains a positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
