We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic School Psychologist to join our Team!
JOB SUMMARY:
Provide consultation to teachers and families, psychological counseling, student assessment, crisis
intervention, and other direct services to children with learning, behavioral, and emotional problems, and
their families. Provide preventive services to improve the climate for learning. Work with classroom
teachers to develop a behavior management plan for an individual student or for an entire class.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Applies data-driven decision-making to facilitate effective educational planning for struggling
learners
? Effectively communicates and relates positively with students, parents, staff, and other members
of the community
? Participates in Child Study/Student Assistance Team meetings
? Collaborates with problem-solving teams to identify/develop research-based intervention plans to
address academic and/or behavioral needs, including means to progress monitor and interpret data
to determine effectiveness
? Assists in the development and implementation of Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive
Behavior Support Plans.
? Attends and actively participates in meetings as a diagnostic staff member for children suspected
and determined eligible for special education, such as Child Study/Student Assistance Team
meetings, IEP team meetings, etc.
? Cooperates with a multidisciplinary team to plan and conduct comprehensive evaluations of
students identified as potentially eligible for special education based on Michigan Administrative
Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
(IDEA).
? Completes comprehensive evaluations as required by State and Federal laws, rules, and
regulations, and per local (ISD) guidance, including Pattern of Strengths and Weaknesses.
? Effectively communicates results of evaluations to parents, teachers, school administrators, and
other involved persons.
? Maintains professional competence in the field which may include engagement in professional
organizations, participation in workshops and conferences, reading professional journals and
other related publications, as well as other professional development activities.
? Follows district and building policies and procedures.
? Completes other duties as assigned by your supervisor.
? Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
? A Master's degree in School Psychology
? A minimum of two (2) or more years of experience as a school psychologist is preferred
? State of Michigan School Psychologist Certificate, or State of Michigan Preliminary School
Psychologist Certificate
? Experience working with and providing counseling services to students with behavior and
cognitive deficits.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Satisfactory criminal background check.
