Job Summary:
Deliver material to Production and Assembly department on all shifts. Complete requested material requisition forms and timely delivery of goods to internal customers.
Responsibilities
- Inspect hi-lo daily and complete inspection checklist.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Empty chip hoppers as needed and clean any leftover debris.
- Break down boxes and remove from pallets.
- Remove old labels from empty dunnage before returning dunnage to the production line.
- Store material correctly and efficiently when received from supplier.
- Follow FIFO procedures.
- Assist in daily maintenance of all material storage areas.
- Assist in monthly inventory process.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of material handling process.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Complete special assignments as requested.
- Other duties as assigned
Academic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to drive or be licensed to drive a fork truck. Will train on the job
Required Skills & Experience
- Basic computer literacy
- Basic math and business writing skills
- Ability to learn new programs, activities and tasks
- Good oral/written communications and interpersonal skills
- Production/manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong organizational, planning and documentation skills
- Works under general supervision.
- Employee acts independently to handle standard problems but usually reports such problems. More unusual problems are referred to a supervisor/manager.
- Major responsibilities do not typically require exercising independent judgement.
- Detailed instructions or established procedures are usually available as guidelines for most aspects of the job.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Outdoor and extreme weather conditions
- Exposure to vibration 70% of the time
- Distance vision required to drive fork truck
- Moderate exposure to noise
