General Purpose and Scope of Position:
Wilbur-Ellis is seeking an Agriculture Field Scout responsible for pest trap placement and monitoring/recording pest activity of various crops and pests. The Field Scout works closely with the field sales and the operations support team.This is a seasonal position that will start in the SUMMER OF 2025!
A Sample of WhatYou'llDo inthis Role:
Prepareandinstalltraps for placement in the field
Inspect andmonitortrapson a weekly basis
Maintain data counts of the number of pests trapped
Use GPS technology to map fields
Comply withcompany safety standards
Take soil samples as needed or directed by sales
Scout crops for economic pests and report to theappropriate Sales Representative
What You Bring tothe Role:
A strong interest in Agriculture, Plant Science, or Horticulture
Intermediate levelproficiencywith standard software including MS Office Suite
Ability to safelyoperatea vehicle within state laws and company policies and guidelines
Knowledge and/or experience with agricultural operations (preferred)
What Makes You a Great Fit:
Youhaveexcellent interpersonal skills
You canrepetitively bend, kneel,and walk long distances while working in a non-climate-controlledenvironment and outside in inclement weather
You have excellent math skills and the ability tomaintainaccuratecounts
You are dependable and reliable
You'rewilling towork overtime andoccasionally workonSaturdays
Compensation and Benefits:
The base compensation for this position ranges from $13.75 to 18.37 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
