Marquette Mineral is looking for an individual to fill an Equipment Operator position in Marquette, Michigan. We are looking for an operator who is self-motivated and is willing to do hands-on physical and mechanical work when required. There will also be opportunities for some groundwork when required.

Schedule:
- 10–11-hour shifts, Monday-Friday with occasional weekend and night work as required.
- Working 50-55 hours per week.
- Typical season runs from March until December annually.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate loaders, excavators, rock trucks, and other equipment; perform daily checks and routine maintenance.
- Feed the crusher and handle material tasks including loading, hauling, stockpiling, hammering, pulverizing, and maintaining roadways and blast areas.
- Monitor material levels to maintain consistent feed and efficient crushing operations; record production and downtime.
- Report required repairs promptly and support general maintenance and plant tasks as needed.
- Work safely and ensure compliance with all company, environmental, and regulatory requirements (MSHA, OSHA, EGLE).
- Coordinate activities with other operators; communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
- Maintain clean equipment cabs and contribute to overall site housekeeping each shift.
- Work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment; assist in other plant and quarry duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment; experience in a quarry or similar environment is an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation; CDL and rigging experience are considered assets.
- Ability to work efficiently, safely, and adapt to fast-paced or stressful environments, both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, mechanical aptitude, and capacity to follow instructions and safety protocols.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Requires prolonged sitting or standing, frequent walking, climbing, bending, crouching, and lifting.
- Physically demanding manual labour in dusty, noisy, and uneven environments.
- May involve long shifts (10+ hours), including weekends and nights as needed.
