Quality Inspector - Aerospace Manufacturing

Shift: 2nd Shift - 3:30 pm - 12 am
Position Summary
A confidential aerospace manufacturing organization is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections of engine components. This role ensures all products meet customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements using established inspection methods and precision measurement tools.
The Quality Inspector will work closely with production and quality teams to identify nonconformances and support continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Perform in-process, first-piece, and final inspections of precision machined components
Operate and/or program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure and inspect parts
Conduct dimensional, visual, and mechanical inspections using standard documentation and procedures
Perform receiving inspection on incoming materials and components
Ensure inspected parts meet all customer specifications and acceptance criteria
Identify nonconforming product and follow established nonconformance procedures
Use precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, borescopes, and other inspection instruments
Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, GD&T, and CAD models to perform accurate measurements
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify root causes and resolve quality issues
Qualifications & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years of quality inspection experience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards preferred
Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficiency with precision measurement tools and gaging methods
Strong mathematical skills for dimensional measurement calculations
High attention to detail with the ability to work accurately and consistently
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
