Description
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our client in Lincoln Park, Michigan. This position is a Contract to permanent opportunity, offering an excellent chance to work in a dynamic environment while contributing to critical accounting and payroll processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in payroll management and QuickBooks Desktop expertise, along with a solid understanding of income tax laws, corporate income tax a plus.
Responsibilities:
Oversee payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate completion of all payroll activities.
Provide training to team members and new employees on QuickBooks Desktop to enhance operational efficiency.
Manage compliance with current tax laws and regulations, including preparing and filing 941s, 940s, W2s, and W3s.
Supervise a team of seven employees, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance.
Assist with income tax preparation and related financial reporting.
Collaborate with the Social Security Administration to ensure proper documentation and compliance.
Conduct account reconciliations and journal entries as part of month-end close processes.
Prepare and review financial statements and assist with audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Utilize Drake Tax Software to manage tax filings and reporting.
Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax regulations and financial matters.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or payroll management.
Expertise in QuickBooks Desktop, with the ability to train others on the platform.
Strong knowledge of payroll procedures and compliance standards.
Familiarity with corporate income tax preparation and tax law regulations.
Proficiency in Drake Tax Software a plus but not required.
Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise others.
Solid understanding of month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
Excellent communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.
