Responsibilities:

• Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents and caregivers
• Ensure that each family receives an opportunity to build strong relationships
• Provide a developmentally appropriate classroom environment that reflects the children's learning and growth
• Collaborate with children's families to ensure a smooth transition from home to the Childcare setting
• Help create weekly plans and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that nurtures and stimulates all domains of each child's development
• Perform ongoing developmental evaluations of children as required

Qualifications:

• Childcare experience such as babysitting, being a Nanny or working in the church nursery
• Valid CPR, first aid, and AED certification or willingness to obtain one
• Complete a Tuberculosis test and physical and provide a physician’s documentation of both
• Able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Prepared to pass a criminal background check through the State of Michigan
• Able to maintain an overall positive and professional disposition
• Willingness to learn about childcare programs, to help plan, organize, and implement educational activities
• Obvious record of making decisions on behalf of children with their well-being the top priority
• Able to maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization
