Job Description Summary
The Avionics Tools Engineering Project Leader demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the Avionics Tools organization, directly manage complex issues within multiple projects, be involved in long-term planning and contribute to the overall Tools development strategy. You will serve as an US-based, Lead Engineering Project Manager for Avionics Tools.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Provide leadership and technical direction to large teams for multiple software development projects with significant business impact
Establish plans for projects, define objectives, identify engineering resources, and manage costs
Manage the project schedules, provide reports to customers and modify plans as required
Act as a CAM for Cost Plus programs implementing certified EVMS
Provide oversight of design practices and standards
Effectively communicate with customers and program managers to assure a quality product is delivered on time and within budget
Effectively apply Project Management Professional (PMP) principles and standards
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in from an accredited university or college
Five years of experience leading software teams supporting external and internal customers
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.
Experience with engineering processes including:
Requirements definition, allocation, validation, verification
Software development and integration
EVMS
Desired Characteristics
Three years of experience in software development
Experience leading in a matrix organization
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
PMP certification
Simulation Development experience
FAA / EASA / NAA certification
