Description We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Bingham Farms, Michigan. In this role, you will manage financial operations and reporting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment within the real estate and property management industry.
Responsibilities:
Perform month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Prepare comprehensive monthly financial statements and compliance reporting packages.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including posting necessary adjustments.
Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure financial data accuracy.
Monitor cash flow and address funding requirements.
Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure timely processing of payments.
Respond promptly to inquiries and requests for financial information.
Prepare annual audit and tax documentation, including year-end workpapers.
Support management with special projects and additional accounting tasks as needed. Requirements - Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial work.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.
Prior experience in real estate or property management accounting is preferred but not required.
Willingness to work on-site and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
